Patriotic Front Porch Decor

Fourth of July is almost upon us! WHERE has the time gone?! I had planned to have this post up much earlier, but COVID shipping delays did a number on me. Lesson learned, though. I still wanted to bring you my finds, as I’ve got some new additions this year that are too good not to share!

First, let’s talk about my new wreath! I didn’t want anything that was themed for the holiday, that way I could continue to use it for the remainder of the summer. So I chose this white hydrangea wreath from Gabriel Mercantile Co. on Etsy. It has the prettiest fern accents and a big burlap bow, and the construction is amazing. I’ve purchased numerous wreaths from this shop over the years and can vouch for the quality and craftsmanship. The monogram is an additional add-on, so if you prefer it without you can easily select that option.

Another new item this year is my custom sign from Dusty Lilac Designs (also on Etsy)! My old sign had seen better days, so I decided to support a local small business with the creation of a new one. I sent over a message with a general idea of what I wanted, and they worked up a sketch for approval. Upon completion I received photos to decide if I wanted anything tweaked. The details on this little sign are amazing! So much better than anything I would have found at a big retailer. The photos speak for themselves!

Next are my layered rug/doormat from Target! The base layer is this 2’X3′ Threshold stripe accent rug. This is technically not meant for outdoor use, but again I always spray with my trusty UV protectant spray and they do fine on my covered front porch. The top layer is the 18″X30″ navy doormat. These two pieces layered together just scream Americana, don’t you think?

Next up is the bunting from Grandin Road. I draped it above my door and I love the classic look it brings. I will probably end up purchasing a second one next year so that it drops lower and hangs around my entire doorframe. The way we attached this was pretty ingenious, if I do say so myself. I didn’t want to have to drill hooks into the bricks so I had to come up with another option. Did you know that some hot glue is rated for outdoor use?! We ended up wrapping floral wire around the bunting and attached the wire to a large washer. We then hot glued the washer to the brick! When we’re ready to take it down we should be able to just use a flathead screwdriver and pry up the washer. All in all it was a really easy install! Get the outdoor hot glue gun here.

Lastly are my black urn planters. I purchased mine from my local Lowe’s but I found the exact same ones on Amazon! When choosing plants, keep in mind the lighting conditions of your porch area. Mine is shaded the majority of the day, so I went with ferns and impatiens. Pop in some flags and you’re good to go!

That’s a wrap! All items are linked below. Again, super late on the post, but be sure to save and pin for next year! Let me know what you think in the comments or on Instagram! As always, I’d love to hear from you!
