It’s officially opening day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I’m a longtime Nordstrom shopper, card holder, and Anniversary Sale enthusiast. This is my fifth year shopping the sale, so I like to think I have a little experience when it comes to navigating this beast of a sale. This year they’re doing things a little differently. Your cardholder status depends on when you’ll have access to start shopping the sale. See timeline below:
They’re also letting you preview items online and build a wish list. This wish list capability is key. In previous years it was a mad dash to load your cart and checkout before popular items sold out. This year you can leisurely browse the sale beforehand and build your wish list, then quickly add those items to your cart on sale day and checkout! I wish they’d done this sooner. I think it will really help cut down on all the website slowness and glitches at checkout.
One quick note about this sale. I don’t think it’s worth it to apply for a Nordstrom card just to access this sale early. Yes, some popular items will sell out and be gone forever. But a lot of the inventory comes back in stock with returns and will also go on sale again later this year. For example, I scored a popular leopard print midi skirt from last year’s sale earlier this summer for $25. During the sale it was $89. The card is worth it though if you’re a regular Nordstrom shopper. The rewards are great and I do love the early sale access. Also, don’t feel pressured to shop the sale! There are going to be a ton of influencers pushing this sale over the next few weeks and sometimes shopping peer pressure can set in. This is where the new wish list feature can really help. It will be easier to browse without feeling rushed so you can carefully curate your list with items you actually need and will fit in your budget.
Let’s get to my picks! If you’re shopping for home decor then you’re in luck, because these items usually don’t sell out in a flash. This sale is a GREAT opportunity to start your Christmas shopping early. There are a lot of fun and unique items any home decor lover is sure to love! Here’s what’s on my wish list this year.
| Throw Blanket | Towels | Cheese Board | Chenille Lattice Duvet + Shams | Moon & Sun Art | Cheese Knives |
| Cake Stand | Le Labo Candles | Champagne Flutes | Textured Glasses: Large & Small | Chip/Dip Plate |
These are the items on my home wish list this year. If you buy only one thing from this sale, let it be this throw blanket. These are indestructible, and I have two kids that can prove it. They’ve destroyed a number of Amazon and Homegoods blankets over the years, and this is the only one that’s held up to their torture. It’s super soft and plush and washes like a dream. I’m stocking up this year while they’re on sale to toss in the seagrass baskets in my living room. They also make wonderful gifts, and you can’t beat this price point!
I’m in need of some new white towels right now and these look perfect! Check out the reviews on these. I’m loving the beautiful copper cake stand and chip & dip plate. These will definitely come in handy for holiday entertaining! Also, check out the dimensions on this cheese board. It’s huge!
I like to treat myself to one splurge item every year, and this year it’s definitely going to be this set of Le Labo candles! Their Santal scent is hands down my absolute favorite smell of all time, so this is a must in candle form.
I really need a full set of champagne flutes. The ones I have are all mismatched and I don’t have very many. I can get a set of 12 of these for under $100! I’m also really loving the geometrical texture on these tumbler glasses, and they’re also a really great price.
